How to create a presentation file
1. Microsoft PowerPoint
Open PowerPoint: Launch the PowerPoint application on your computer.
Start a New Presentation:
You'll usually see a startup screen with options.
Select "Blank Presentation" to start from scratch.
Alternatively, choose a "Template" for a pre-designed presentation.
Add Slides:
PowerPoint opens with one slide.
To add more, go to the "Home" tab and click "New Slide."
Choose a slide layout that suits your content (title slide, title and content, etc.).
Add Content:
Click inside the text placeholders to add titles, subtitles, and main points.
Use the "Insert" tab to add pictures, charts, shapes, videos, and more.
Save Your Presentation:
Click "File" and then "Save As."
Choose a location, give your presentation a name, and select the file format (.pptx is the standard).
2. Google Slides
Open Google Slides: Go to www.slides.google.com in your web browser.
Start a New Presentation:
Click the "+" icon ("Blank") to start a new presentation.
Or, choose a template from the template gallery.
Add Slides:
Click the "+" icon in the toolbar to add a new slide.
Click the arrow next to it to choose a layout.
Add Content:
Click in the text boxes to add your information.
Use the "Insert" menu to add images, videos, shapes, and other elements.
Design Your Slides:
Choose a theme from the "Theme" option on the toolbar.
Customize the background, fonts, and colors as needed.
Use transitions and animations from the "Slide" menu.
Save Your Presentation:
Google Slides automatically saves your work to Google Drive as you go, so there is no need to manually save.
You can download a copy in various formats (PowerPoint, PDF, etc.) by going to "File" > "Download."
3. Keynote (for Mac)
Open Keynote: Launch the Keynote application.
Start a New Presentation:
Choose a theme from the theme selector.
Add Slides:
Click the "Add Slide" button in the toolbar.
Choose a slide layout.
Add Content:
Add text, images, videos, charts, and other elements using the tools in the toolbar.
Design Your Slides:
Customize the slide appearance using the formatting options.
Add transitions and animations.
Save Your Presentation:
Go to "File" > "Save."
Name your presentation and choose where to save it.
